The emergency plan is an instrument of intervention actions risk. It consists of the planning of actions to be carried out if a specific event happen.
Therefore, the emergency plan consists of several response plans or contingency specific events such as evacuation plan, agglomerations, earthquake, among others.
These contingency plans are looking to the education community is prepared to respond to the occurrence of an event. Response plans for emergencies and disasters contemplate what to do before, during and after an event, with the support and operation of the school committee and its brigades.
It should be noted the importance and need for both the school committee as the brigades should be staffed mainly by adults. Students play a supporting role, but the responsibility lies with the adults. For example, the incipient fire fighting and first aid in the impact zone must be done by adults.
In large schools can organize other groups, who take on responsibilities that were in charge of the three brigades above, such as:
- Surveillance and security Brigade
- Communication and liaison Brigade
- Brigade logistics and vital reserves
- Brigadier-curricular and extracurricular
The most important plan in schools is the presence of all students, safety and welfare, and release them as soon as possible to his / her parent or designated guardian. Documentation is a key element in all team activities. These teams should be created at the beginning of school year to ensure that the campus is prepared to respond to any emergency.
